How Long Does It Take to Replace a HVAC Air Filter?

Changing a 4-5 inch media filter takes 1-2 minutes. Open the filter cabinet door, slide out the old filter, slide in the new one, close the door.
Measuring for a replacement filter: check the size printed on the frame of your current filter (e.g., 16x25x1, 20x20x1). If it's not printed, measure length x width x depth. Filters are sold in nominal sizes (16x25x1) that are actually slightly smaller (15.75x24.75x0.75) to fit in the slot.
